Matson bought the first dockside crane, the little one, in 1960. Virginia bought the current Jumbo model in 2003. Liftech's engineers helped design both.

Every year some Oakland kids visit us to see what engineers do. Some are inspired by the brute strength of structures. Some build bridges out of TinkerToys and string.

Some cranes go straight. Some don't. Liftech designed this early solution for the SeaLand New Jersey Terminal.

Breaking a Tradition: the Liftech/JWD softball team has won only two out of ten games every year in the Oakland co-ed Engineers’ Softball League, until the 2004 season.

The Virginia Port Authority wanted to service the smallest and the largest ships using the same crane. How do you load a small barge with a jumbo crane? Lower the runway.
